They are there to reach the children’s experience with strength, hope, and joy. Since their inception in 1984 they have helped over 144,000 children by granting wishes ranging from meeting celebrities to visiting Walt Disney World.
• Habitat for Humanity the habitat for humanity’s mission is to help communities with dedicated partnerships between empowered families, volunteers, organizations and businesses in the Sacramento region. Their programs help families that cannot afford the down payment to buy a home. What they require is 500 hours of work, referred to as “Sweat Equity”
• Weave Is a crisis center for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Their vision is a community free from violence and abuse. They believe that crisis intervention services are an integral part of the solution

For those considering donating their vehicle we recommend that you research your charity before you sign over your vehicle. Scams are abundant and car donation scams are on the rise dramatically. Beware of deals that sound too good to be true. The last thing you would want to happen is to be taken in a scam where you think your car is going to a good cause when it is actually being sold for profit to line someone else’s pockets.

Once you settle on a worthy charity do make the extra effort to find out if they are a legitimate charity. The IRS states that you can only write off donations made to legitimate charities from your taxes. When in doubt check it out.

A legitimate charity will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes, that receipt will also be forwarded  to the IRS. So if you feel that you are dealing with a less than desirable donation center, take the time to find out who you are dealing with.
